I thought my life would be more relaxed after my daughter’s wedding but no, I was very wrong. I had to be away again. This time to visit my eldest daughter who was down with quite bad body rashes. Couldn’t figure out what she was suddenly allergic to but it has gone after some medication from the doctor. This time she has me ALL for herself!. She told me she’ll pretend to be sick every now and then so that I would come and stay with her!…..huh…..*shaking my head*. Just wait til the daddy reads this…..haha. Read more
Salted Fish! Yes, I love salted fish. It’s one food item that can make me eat more rice. In fact a lot of rice….*big smiles*. It’s SO appetising. I can survive just on salted fish and rice porridge. That’s just how good it is. You have missed out on this one special food of the ancient of days if you have never tried it. It’s just too good to miss. Read more
I’m back! Back from my DAUGHTER’S WEDDING!! Now you know why I needed to take a break from blogging. My hair will turn grey if I don’t……*big grin*. It was such a fun wedding to remember, very different from the normal weddings that I attended. My daughter and her hubby had been planning it since last year. There was so much thoughts put into it….into the most minute detail. She kept me updated along the way but I just couIdn’t visualise it. I was overwhelmingly surprised on the wedding day! It was elaborate, celebrative and fun. Such a joy to see everyone enjoying it very much. Read more
Ever crave for some food that you can’t get? I have gone through TOO many of such cravings! Sounds very greedy huh….haha. When I first landed here in Aberdeen, I was actually horrified to know that there’s no Malaysian food here. There was a very small Chinese supermarket then called Campbell which sells mainly Chinese ingredients and not Malaysian ingredients. Really glad there’s another bigger Chinese supermarket now, Matthews, which sells more Malaysian ingredients. Read more
PHEW….finally I found it….. my Savoury Chinese 5-spice Doughnut (Ham Chim Paeng) recipe! I had been frantically looking for it yesterday but to no avail. I remembered I scribbled it on a piece of paper. Where on earth did I put it?? It really spoiled my day…..hmmm. I promised you in my recent post Memorable Trip Home (Cooking and Baking) that I will put up the recipe. And now I couldn’t find it! I would feel so bad if I break my promise. Told myself that I shouldn’t have promised! Read more
This is another continuation of my memorable trip home recently. One of the special friends that I look forward to meeting again is Arthur, a food blogger that I came to know through blogging. I met him the previous trip I went back. He is a very friendly blogger. His blog is Still Crazy After All These Years. Wonder what is he still crazy about….*big grin*. I better don’t be too nosy and stay out of trouble by not asking, just in case his answer shocked me out of my life….haha. If you want to know, go and ask him yourself. Don’t forget to come back here and tell me, ok?….*big grin*. Arthur was an English teacher so I better don’t make a fool of myself here…..hehe. If he is to mark my English here, I bet there’ll be a lot of red circles or underlines and comments here and there…..haha. Read more
