Sweet potato rice porridge

Sweet Potato Rice Porridge, or congee, is what I survived on the whole day yesterday. It was like a punishment for a bad day after being down with a bad stomache upset the whole evening and night the day before. Gosh….I had never suffered like that….vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache and fainting. At around 2a.m., my daughter had to call the hospital and the doctor came shortly after that.

Delicious chicken vegetables noodle soup

Chicken Vegetables Noodle Soup….perfect to bring cheers to everyone in this cold weather. My family would never say ‘no’ to it. It has been quite a while since we last had chicken noodle soup. When I read Anncoo’s Meat Balls Soup With Udon posted on the second day of the new year, I immediately jumped at it. We must have noodles in soup for dinner. Pineapple is one of my favourite fruits. My family loves it very much especially if it is sweet. I grew up eating lots of pineapples. Malaysia is a pineapple-growing nation. Pineapples are very sweet and cheap there. I used to plant them in my backyard. They are extremely delicious when plucked ripe from the plant.

Delicious dry wontons

Wontons, or wantans, are very simple, easy and quick to cook, yet very delicious. If you are very busy and don’t have much time to do any proper cooking, this is an excellent option. They are my family favourite, whether served dry or in soup. As long as you have ready minced meat in your fridge or freezer, wontons take less than 20 minutes to cook.

Brussels sprouts with honey and mustard sauce

It’s still festive holidays here in my family. It’s just so wonderful that everyone is so relaxed and happy. My hubby and I went for badminton with friends yesterday. Badminton is my best sport. It is team playing and great fun. All of us enjoyed it very much. Games and sports bring friends together too, apart from food. Besides, after all the parties this past week, it’s time to burn off the extra calories.

Creamy Chinese cabbage soup

Chinese Cabbage is a very delicious vegetable. It is very delicious however you cook it. It is one of my family’s favourite vegetables. I usually make mixed vegetables, fried with noodles or make soup with it.

It has been snowing badly for the past few days. The weather is freezing cold and everywhere is covered with thick snow. The best way to bring some cheers is more hot soup. This time I tried Creamy Chinese Cabbage Soup.
