Special Blogger Friend And Gift

A special gift from Anncoo

A special gift from Anncoo

I must say that my weekend was bad and good at the same time. It was bad because my recent blog post, Salmon Burger And Kids Meal, was stolen minutes after it was published! This is the second content theft happened to my blog within such a short time. It was really upsetting. What a way to my weekend! Recently I had shared about Stealing And Scrapping Blog Content - Are You Aware? I will share more soon

Well, it was not an all-bad weekend. The next day I received a parcel….all the way from Singapore! It was quite heavy. I was utterly speechless when I saw Ann’s name on the parcel! My eyes must have popped out and my heart must have missed many beats. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I was just so touched by her love. Inside the box were a few packets of herbs for chicken soup, green and red curry pastes and also konyakku jelly powder and a card. My children were totally astonished. They exclaimed, ‘WOW’. The next moment, they were excitedly screaming, ‘Mom, cook this! Cook this one first!’

Mother’s Day Happy Healthy Brunch (Guest Post)

Mother's Day Healthy Breakfast

Mother's Day Happy Healthy Brunch

I’m very excited to share this beautiful, healthy brunch for Mother’s Day which falls on 9th May, 2010 in many countries. This is a guest post by Biren of Roti n Rice. It’s such a privilege and an honour to have her as a guest blogger. I didn’t tell Biren what dish to write for my blog but she spotted me right in my heart…a colourful, healthy and delicious dish……just what I love!! I was surprised but really happy. This is really perfect for me for brunch, in fact any time. I always have a glass of freshly made carrot-apple juice in the morning. This plate would fit me very well at about 10.30 a.m. I will be totally satisfied and happy.

Chinese New Year Women’s Hot Pot (Steam Boat) Party

Having fun cooking and eating

Having fun cooking and eating

Chinese enjoys Hot Pot. In Malaysia we call it Steam Boat. This is a very fun and healthy way to eat and particularly most welcoming in this bitterly cold winter to keep everyone happy, nice and warm. The most important is a soup base. It can be spicy like the tom yum soup or a non spicy one. Usually we have both. Then there’s a wide array of raw meat and seafood, vegetables, noodles and cooked meatballs to be cooked in the boiling soup. Little bowls of sauces are served as dips. At the end of all the cooking, the soup tastes the best in the world.

Very refreshing, beautiful, delicious and utterly impressive

Beautiful Winter Scenes In Aberdeen, Scotland

A beautiful swan

A beautiful and graceful swan

It has been snowing quite heavily last week and the temperature dipped to below zero degrees. I really don’t like the biting cold. Aberdeen, Scotland, is facing the North Sea and the wind causes an intense winter chill that seems to pierce into all my bones. It gets worse when the Arctic wind blows south.

sunny but cold

Sunny but cold

Aberdeen buildings are mainly built from granite, making the city particularly depressing during the cold, gloomy winter. So, a big snowfall is actually most welcoming as it lightens and cheers up the place. In fact, Aberdeen is a very beautiful place to live in…beautiful sceneries, clean air and not too crowded.

Chinese New Year Women’s Happy Hours

All pretty ladies.

All pretty ladies. Which one is MaryMoh???

How cool it is to be able to celebrate New Year for 15 days! That is what Chinese New Year is. It’s a great time of get-together, food and merry-making. It’s a time of building relationships, especially among family members and friends and making new friends through all the visitation and parties.

My family has been eating a lot of awesome food this Chinese New Year and having lots of fun together as a family and also with friends. There’s still one more week of celebration to go. This whole celebration will end on the 15th day of the Chinese New Year, called ‘Chap Goh Mei‘. We had an amazing Chinese New Eve with friends but the other day we had an all Chinese New Year Women’s Happy Hours when all our men were at work. We had lots of food and fun. I think there is more fun when no man is around…haha. We always seem to make our men jealous…haha.

Table of delicacies

Chinese New Year Eve is a very important event to all Chinese. It’s the time when family members gather together for the reunion dinner if possible. Many travel home from far to join the rest for this auspicious time. But for me, sadly, it’s been quite a number of years since I’ve not been back for the Chinese New Year. We miss home a lot during this time and so are our families back home in Malaysia.
