I have been a little ambitious the other day when I said I would still blog about my food and recipes but I realise time has not been on my side at all. So I think I will just keep this short and wish all of you, my treasured readers…….

I’ll let you have a glimpse of my busy past few days.

Christmas church pot luck

We had a most wonderful church pot luck over the weekend. The place was crowded. There was so much good food as everyone brought at least a dish, followed by a great evening of songs, skits and gifts.

I got up at 5a.m. to make 54 pieces of snowy skin moon cakes with red bean paste filling. It’s definitely not enough to feed the big crowd. Maybe I should have cut each into 2! You may be laughing for making these mooncakes at the wrong time as it’s not mooncake festival…..haha. I know it was already over but people love them so I decided to make for them.

I also cooked a big pot of belly pork stew and a big pot of chicken. Then went for a good game of badminton, came back to heat up the food, cooked a pot of rice and off to church. Phew….what an awesome day! It was exhausting but it was really great…..*BIG smiles*.

Christmas with friends
Christmas with friends

Then yesterday a lovely family arrived from Malaysia to visit….a long 30 hour journey! That’s because it’s a cheaper flight so the transit times were long. We had a wonderful dinner together. I’m completely amazed that they were able to stay wide awake. No jet lag problem….wow! I would have fallen asleep on the dinner table….haha. Had not seen them for about 7 years. We had such a wonderful evening of chat and laughters. Really a lot to update…..*grin*

Ok, I told myself to keep this short and I’ll keep to that. I promised my girl to go out with her for some good mother-daughter time….*big smiles*. Got to go and get ready.

Once again…

Til then, see you in my next post. Take care and enjoy your year end!

Quote of the day……

“There is nothing to hold your negative feelings in place other than your own thinking. The next time you’re feeling upset, notice your thinking—it will be negative. Remind yourself that it’s your thinking that is negative, not your life.”

Looks like you’re having a very busy and exciting holiday. Doesn’t matter if the food doesn’t match the occasion. As long as everybody likes it, it’s all good. I’m not a huge fan of moon cakes, but I do like the snowy skin ones. Next time just make smaller ones. Haha. Most ppl are going to end up sharing one anyways. :)
Wow, 30 journey?! Kudos to your friends. Hope you have a great remainder of your holidays with them!
