Gourmet Box Giveaway By Gousto

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’m so thrilled to announce another giveaway here. This one is for UK readers. My apology to international readers. Hope one day, I’ll have giveaways for international readers too.

Gousto is sponsoring TWO 2-person meals for the giveaway, for 2 lucky winners. They provide you with high quality ingredients for the meal you choose and you cook from scratch according to the recipe. How cool is that! I just did that recently. It was so fun, hassle free and no waste of food. Just look at the pictures here. Mouth watering? My family and guests really liked it.

Just in case you are new here, I received ingredients for 2 meals from Gousto recently. I picked the 2 meals from their menu. They were Chicken And Quinoa Rissoles With Almond Broccoli and Salmon, Broccoli And Dill Quiche. I followed the recipes given and cooked them (pictured here above). I had never cooked these type of dishes before. It was really cooking out of my comfort zone. But with the ingredients and the recipes given, I was able to do it rather easily. So proud of myself! We had a great dinner. Even though the 2 meals stated that it can feed 4 persons, we still have quite a lot of leftovers for the next day. Do check out my posts mentioned above to read more.

Gousto provides most of the ingredients already measured out – only items such as milk came in a full carton, leaving you with most of the litre to use on your cornflakes. Customers are given a choice of recipes, meaning you can avoid things you don’t like. The Gousto chefs upload a new menu to the website every week, which always has meat, fish and vegetarian options; a lot of basic recipes but some exotic and innovative ones too. Customers must place their order by Wednesday night for delivery on the following Tuesday (1pm to 6pm) or Wednesday (9am to 5pm). Gousto says most of its clients are out during these hours, but the food can be left (with freezer pouches) in a safe place as directed by the customer.

For those who find cooking intimidating or who are just too busy to shop and cook, I really recommend you to check it out with Gousto. You will enjoy cooking and you don’t even need to go shopping for food to cook. All you need to do is to pick from the menu, pay for it and it will be delivered to your doorsteps. Then just follow the recipe and cook. Just that simple and easy. You get high quality food, prepared fresh and served hot, in the comfort of you home. It’s so much cheaper and healthier than eating out. It’s an easy way out to have friends over for a meal too. I think it’s also a very good way to teach our children, especially teenage children to cook before they leave home. The fun is in picking the menu and following the recipe to cook.

Gousto delivers nationwide except for really remote places. You can check if they can deliver to your address by clicking the “Get Started” button on http://www.gousto.co.uk/food-bags.

I’m a great believer in eggs - scrambled in the microwave or a quick omelette and you have a meal in minutes.

@Diana Cotter - That’s what I love to do, too :D I love fried eggs but with the egg yolk still very soft. Sometimes when I am lazy, I would just head for bananas, at least 2 or 3…hehe

This sounds very good. I hope I can win it. When I don’t have time, I will just cook instant noodles. It’s so quick and so good.

An Omlette :)

If I’m really short of time, I’ll go for beans on toast, but pasta if my main, “no time to cook properly” food.

Hi Mary,

Like I said before, I love that they deliver right to your house and also provide a recipe. For a busy mom like me, shopping for groceries can be a real task, especially with one child on each side pulling you in opposite directions. This company has a great idea! Too bad I don’t live in the UK. I’d definitely give these guys a try. I’d also invite myself to your dinner table every night. Teehee. Can you blame me? Look at all those yummy dishes! Best of luck to all your participants.
