Right Post Wrong Pictures (Photo Theft!)

I have been missing out on my blogging again lately. Too many things to do in too short a time. I have learned that if we find that 24 hours a day is not enough everyday, then we are just too busy. Life is not meant to be that way. So, I’m taking time off to relax a little today to get charged up and refreshed.
Thanks very much to everyone for visiting my blog and all your lovely comments in my previous post. I read each one of them. Reading comments always brings smiles. Will catch up on your blog soon.
I got up this morning and was shocked to read a comment and an email from my dear blogger friend, Cheah from No-Frills Recipes. I am so thankful to her. I just have to blog about it. It’s again about stealing. This time it’s not content theft but photo theft!! I was horrified and yet amused. It is on blogs and also circulating through emails around the world!!!
The post is about “Miracle Drink : Carrot, Potato And Apple”. The pictures were stolen from my post Carrot Apple And Beet Juice For Health. I thought it so mindless to use my pictures when the post does not mention about beetroot and my juice does not contain potato. You can find the stolen pictures here at In The Emails and Cancer Health Centre. I’m sure there are more. I have already informed the site owners. You will notice that a lot of these types of sites do not have an About or Contact page. They want to remain anonymous. So be on the look out! These sites use stolen content and pictures to make money from advertisements placed on their blogs. They can even sell your pictures. The Blog Herald has a good post about 6 Steps to Stop Content Theft.

As usual I’ve visited those sites and left a comment on each. Here’s what I wrote (of course waiting for modification…argh!).
“The picture doesn’t match the blog post because this is a stolen picture and I think it’s very rude of you to steal someone’s picture from their blog and erase their name from it to use it as your own picture!!”
The weird thing is that I actually saw your comment and email after I commented. How strange. When I refreshed the page, it was gone. Hope you can take your minds off these people, Mary. You have much better things going on than to let these types of people annoy you. Keep smiling my friend, just keep smiling. A smile can go a very long ways, see —> :-D. All the way from Canada. This is a nonstop theft. I too seen my photos in other blogs. So fed up of this, I added a gadget to my blog, so that none can right click at any part of my blog to save the photo or content.

So sorry about that Mary! I have been in the same situation quite often. I know it’s hard, some people just don’t get it. If it’s on the internet it doesn’t mean people can use it without any permission.

someone took one of my pics also, panckaes..I think they searched blackberry panckaes and my image popped up and they simply inserted in their blog, I commented but they never took it down..sorry it sucks when you work hard at taking pics

Oh Mary, why does it always happen to u? I’m so sorry. That’s one reason why I put my “signature” across the pix to stamp my foodprint. Hahaha! It’s very individual. Some may not like the idea as it cuts across the pix.

Hi Mary, regret to read of the thefts. But this happens all the time. Not easy to stop it.
I do take certain precautions and as well track whoever down to say he or she did wrong by not asking permission.
