Laksa Salmon With Asparagus Stir Fry
Salmon is a very delicious fish and comes with many health benefits, especially for its high omega-3. Wild Alaskan salmon is the best but much more expensive. I love to cook salmon because it is easy to cook and tastes very delicious. Just recently I have come to like smoked salmon.
This salmon stir fry with asparagus is very simple and easy. The laksa paste adds beautiful flavour and taste to it. The laksa paste that I used here is the same one that I used in Malaysian Curry Fish Laksa. Here is my recipe:
Ingredients A
500g salmon (cut into pieces)
1T soya sauce
1T corn flour
1T sesame oil
Marinate the salmon pieces with the rest of the ingredients in Ingredients A for about 30 minutes. Pan fry the salmon pieces and keep aside.
Ingredients B
250g asparagus (washed and cut)
2T laksa paste
1T fried garlic oil
2T water
light soya sauce to season
Heat up some fried garlic oil in a frying pan or wok. Add the laksa paste, asparagus and the water. Give a stir and cover it for a couple of minutes. Asparagus is very tender and cooks fast so don’t overcook it. Test for doneness according to your preference. Lastly add the salmon pieces and add some light soya sauce to taste. Dish up and serve hot. As usual, my family likes it with rice.

I seldom eat salmon but I guess other types of fish would taste nice too huh? Would love to try cooking fish this way instead of just deep frying.

I’m going to try this dish with our local fish fillet. Lucky you, can have salmon so often. Over here they cost a bomb, can only buy them when there’s an offer!

Stir-frying with laksa paste is a brilliant idea. It would go really well with the salmon, and it looks great, too.

@pigpigscorner - I should have learned from you long time ago……have just discovered it. Not too late huh
@the lacquer spoon - Haha…you are very right
Time is bad but we can spend less and still enjoy good food.
@Jeannie - I’m sure other types of fish works well too. I seldom do deep fry. I hate cleaning up my kitchen. If I have to, I would do it outside but then it’s most of the time too cold. Summer is here so I may do deep fry soon
@divya - Thanks very much, Divya!
@Cheah - If you visit UK, do eat more salmon. But this dish should work well with other fish. Now I miss all the fresh fish back home

@noobcook - Give a try. It’s really simple, easy and makes delicious dishes
@TasteHongKong - Try Asian shops. They should have, either in bottles or in packets. I always buy the packet ones, Malaysian brand. Have fun cooking

@Ananda - Thanks very much!
@lequan@luvtoeat - If we stay in the same town, I think the place would run out of salmon because of the 2 of us….haha.
