Sweet Potato Rice Porridge, or congee, is what I survived on the whole day yesterday. It was like a punishment for a bad day after being down with a bad stomache upset the whole evening and night the day before. Gosh….I had never suffered like that….vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache and fainting. At around 2a.m., my daughter had to call the hospital and the doctor came shortly after that.

Chicken Vegetables Noodle Soup….perfect to bring cheers to everyone in this cold weather. My family would never say ‘no’ to it. It has been quite a while since we last had chicken noodle soup. When I read Anncoo’s Meat Balls Soup With Udon posted on the second day of the new year, I immediately jumped at it. We must have noodles in soup for dinner. It was so cold and I knew everyone would be so happy.

I made a steamed 3- Layered Rice Pudding and a Rocky Road Slice. They were especially for 2 special Scottish friends who came back from Melbourne and left again yesterday.
