Mango Raspberries Smoothie
I am finally persuaded……..to enjoy smoothie! I have never liked smoothie. It’s cold, thick and sweet. But lately my children had been enjoying Mango Raspberries Smoothie. They were explaining to me that they were trying to eat more fruits! They served me a glass and….wow…..that was really good! But I felt so cold after that. Imagine having cold smoothie in this freezing weather? I took a look at my watch and goodness me, it was 11 p.m.! I just had to shut down my computer and jump into bed under my thick duvet and off into my dreamland…..zzzzz
My 2 children hardly cook. That’s because mommy is always there to cook for them. I think the recent 2 dishes that they made when I was down very sick with tummy upset really surprised but impressed me. Now this smoothie is a surprise to me again. At least they learn something new which is new to me too. Hoping very much that they learn more.
The recipe is very simple. The pictures are taken by them.
Ingredients
frozen mango
frozen raspberries
banana (peel and cut)
mango ice cream
mango juice
Use the amount of fruits that you like.
Use the mango and raspberries from frozen. Do not defrost.
Put the fruits into the blender. Scoop in some mango ice cream, pour in some mango juice and blend it until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. It is just so delicious. I’m sure I’ll enjoy this much more in summer.

Such perfect timing! I have mango puree and frozen raspberries left over from my birthday lunch. I’m going to try to make this with my stabmixer.

I am ok with smoothies as long as someone blends it for me! :O I don’t have the luxury of a good blender.
TasteHongKong on January 20th, 2010
I don’t need to be persuaded and love to have one glass of the above. I take very few cold drinks, but this could be an exception.
penny aka jeroxie on January 20th, 2010
All the summer fruits are calling me.
3hungrytummies on January 20th, 2010
You are bring summer into your home! Mango is so cheap at the moment here, great breakfast idea!
Mary on January 20th, 2010
@noobcook - A good one to start for you then
I don’t quite like raspberries because of its sourness but it’s very nice in this smoothie.
@Kookie - Have fun making and enjoy it….refreshing and delicious
@tigerfish - You must be one lucky one to have someone blend for you! Hope you get a good blender soon. Then you can enjoy endless smoothies
@TasteHongKong - Me, too. I don’t like cold drinks. I don’t like that cold feeling in my stomach but I don’t mind this one…just sip slowly
@Penny aka jeroxie - This drink would be just perfect for the hot summer over on your side. I’m sure I’ll be drinking this everyday when summer comes.
@3hungrytummies - I wish I am back home….so much sweet and cheap mangoes to make this smoothie. I’ll have to eat my heart out when I go back.

I love smoothie with any kind of fruits mixed…very healthy and refreshing.
Divina on January 20th, 2010
I like your new watermark. I love all kinds of smoothies but if there’s assorted berries here, I would love to have that with some peaches. But I usually do them with tropical fruits. Right now, we have abundant mangoes and I mix them with lime juice and sometimes to make a green smoothie, I add some malunggay leaves (moringa). Then this is the best way to add my hemp hearts and bee pollen.
Here’s my previous post about smoothie:

If only I have all the Asian local fruits to make smoothie!
@Divina - Thank you for comment about the watermark. Just giving it a try. Don’t think it’s the best but good for the time being. Using tropical fruits would be my best. They are fresh and sweet and full of vitamins. Makes me miss home again

Smoothies are great, I like putting yogurt in mine as well as milk.
Marysol on January 20th, 2010
Healthy yes, but mangoes and raspberries are such heavenly fruits, in their own right, that it’s not at all difficult to imagine how wonderful this smoothie would be.
Anna on January 20th, 2010

@Marysol - They truly are. I hope to learn more and enjoy more smoothies
@Anna - That’s such a cute name, but appropriate cos it’s so rich in vitamins. I hope my children will learn more, then I’ll get to eat more
@Julie Lynn - Totally agree with you that it’s good for my children. I do want them to know how to cook well before they leave the nest of comfort.

@Mimi - I think my girls will happily consider any food a good group, even junk food!! It’s hard these days with so much processed & junk food around.
@Megan - Thank you very much. The best part of it is that it’s so simple and easy to make, yet so delicious. A great way to eat more types of fruits.
@Blackswan - Oh, I can imagine that. I’ll be hiding in air conditoned room the whole day and downing myself with all these refreshing fruit drinks. But I miss all the sunshine there!
