First Wedding Of The New Year 2010

My friend just got married! I’m just so happy for her and her husband. This is the first wedding that I have ever attended that falls on the first day of the New Year and right at midnight when the clock strikes 12! What a way and a day to get married!
I must say this is one of the most memorable weddings that I have ever attended. The bride and bridegroom looked utterly gorgeous in their Indian outfit…..incredibly beautiful! Besides, this must be the happiest wedding couples that I have ever met, smiling and happy the whole evening. I don’t think there’s any photo taken of them not smiling. It’s very inspirational.
This is a church wedding and the whole atmosphere was electric as the bride and the bridegroom walked into the door. There were short speeches and then food was served after which we proceeded to the main church hall to sing some songs and enjoy some Scottish Ceilidh dancing.
We had a count down at 12 midnight, gave a shout of Happy New Year and the pastor immediately proceeded with the wedding ceremony. I’m always very moved when the bride and the bridegroom exchanged wedding vows, a commitment to stay for each other always.
The place was very crowded and with all the excitement going on, I didn’t manage to take as many photos as I would like to. However, I’m still very glad to have a few nice pictures of the bride and groom.
How did you end the last day of 2009? How did you celebrate the start of 2010? Please share, add and comment in the comment box below.
Wishing everyone
”A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2010!”
