Christmas Eve Family Fun
It’s CHRISTMAS! It’s going to be another fun and joyous day. It’s a day where my family will stay in most of the time to chat, eat, watch movies or have some indoor games together.
Christmas Eve had been exceptionally great. We had a simple but lovely late supper of crispy, aromatic roasted duck, oranges and fruit sorbet. All of them were store bought. We have always enjoyed eating the crispy aromatic duck wrap. All I need to do was put the duck to bake.
The fruit sorbet was really fabulous, made from pure fruit juices. There were 10 pieces in a box with 4 flavours: pineapple, orange, lemon and coconut. I chose the pineapple one but I like all of them.
We received loads of Christmas presents this year and we waited until midnight to open them. It was all fun and laughter as we opened our presents. I really liked all the presents that I got.
Christmas is very significant to me. Its BEAUTY taught me many things in life, particularly in the areas of LOVE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE and GENEROSITY.
The Power of LOVE
There’s tremendous power in LOVE. We must never grow tired of loving others, especially our own loved ones. Love is powerful enough to help a person change to become a better person. Love sometimes comes with a price to pay. You may even be hurt along the way but nevertheless LOVE.
The Freedom of FORGIVENESS
There’s great freedom in FORGIVENESS. Being unable to forgive often leads to anger which soon turns to bitterness and resentment. Why suffer when others continue to be happy? In life, there are occasions where we will meet people who accuse us, hurl insults at us, treat us badly, disrespectfully, unjustly or discriminately but nevertheless FORGIVE so that we can move on and achieve what we want. Unforgiveness acts like a chain that prevents us from moving forward but forgiveness releases us. Forgiveness also gives people a second chance, or even third chance. Don’t we want others to do that to us, too?
The Beauty of HOPE
HOPE energizes us and gives us the courage to do things. I have seen many of my hopes and dreams come true. When we dare to hope, we become positive in our thoughts, words and actions. A lot of things, even people, around us may look hopeless and helpless. We can be drowned together in hopeless despair or rise above in hope and achieve what others have given up. Most importantly, let us never give up hope on our loved ones.
The Power of GENEROSITY
GENEROSITY releases us of selfishness. My parents are very generous towards others. I still remember those days when we were young and poor. My parents never fail to reach out to help those in need. They were and still are very generous in their time and resources. Life is a misery when it is lived just solely for us or our own families. But it is very exciting when we are available and generous with our time, resources and actions of kindness, love and words of encouragement towards others.
To be able to LOVE, FORGIVE, HOPE and be GENEROUS brings unspeakable PEACE and JOY. Life becomes meaningful and fulfilled.
