King Prawns And Salmon Curry……just what I need. My family loves curry. I always say that curry makes my world go round. We love king prawns and salmon. So, this curry dish has to be one of my best dishes. We had this with rice and another stir fried vegetables for dinner. It was fabulous, a very satisfying meal. I think everyone over ate.
Here’s my recipe to share. It’s enough for 4-5 persons.
Ingredients A
500g salmon (cut into bite size pieces)
500g cooked king prawns
Ingredients B
200g green bean (cut into halves)
150g baby corn (cut into halves)
1 sweet potato (peeled and cut into pieces)
1 big onion (peel and dice)
4 medium tomatoes (quarter them)
Put everything into a pot. Add 3-4 cups of water and leave to boil for a while, about 10 minutes.
Ingredients C
1/2 packet Malaysian curry paste
1/2 packet coconut powder
1 vegetable stock cube
1t of sugar
salt to taste
Add everything in Ingredients B to the pot above and leave it to boil for a short while.
My favourite curry paste is still the ready one in a packet. It’s a Malaysian curry paste. Even though it’s written outside for chicken curry, I use it all the time for any curry dishes. The colour and taste are beautiful.
Add in the salmon pieces. When it’s half cooked, add the prawns. Adjust the amount of water and seasonings according to your taste. Once it boils, turn off the fire. Serve hot with rice, pasta or noodles. It’s just very delicious.

This looks delicious!! I love curry really. I have been using it in salads too lately. I have a dish recipe from my friend’s mom that is very rich. It is sort of a sweet and sour curry type with a chicken and peas base. I am saving your recipe ![]()

Very creative ~~never thought of adding prawns and salmon in curry. Sounds great ;D
Mary on December 16th, 2009
@Divina - That’s what I like….curries must be with coconut milk. Curries make me smile
@Vivianne - Wow…curries in salad! I have to try that. But I think I’ll prefer dry curry then to go with the salad. Your friend’s curry sounds very delicious….mmm
@Anncoo - Thanks. It was my first time trying that…surprisingly good.

The colour looks very Indian!
Mary on December 16th, 2009
@Shirley - Thanks. I didn’t know that Indian curry is of this colour. At least I learn something.

This curry is so mouth-watering. Never tasted salmon in curry before, over here, salmon is very expensive, normally we pan-fry, smoke or chargrill.
TasteHongKong on December 16th, 2009
Sweet potato in curry? A daring combination.
Mary on December 16th, 2009
@Shanti - Thanks. I thought it was hilarious to see everyone so excited scooping and slurping and going for more rice
@Gail - Prawns and salmon seem to make a very good combo in curry. I’ll be cooking again soon.
@3hungrytummies - I’m really thankful to get this curry paste…just so convenient. It’s quite killing to prepare it from scratch. I hate peeling the shallots…always make me cry. Need crocodile tears?…just peel shallots…:D
@Angie - LOL…so sorry about that. You have to go to my post on ‘Cooking Kumquats’…that’s more slimming
@The Little Teochew - It was a good, successful experiment….very happy about that.
@Sarah, Maison Cupcake - Awww…that sounds so lovely :)Enjoy cooking!
@Simply Life - It’s really easy to cook. Just everything in a pot and a hot, delicious meal within a short time. Hope you try out soon.
@cheah - I try my best not to pan fry salmon unless I can do it outside. The smell is so strong and stays in my house the whole day, even until the next day.
@TasteHongKong - Haha…I love sweet potatoes and thought it would give a beautiful, natural sweetness to the curry. It was surprisingly good.

what a suprising combination of curry, but i like it! ![]()
Mary on December 17th, 2009
@Thas - Thanks for visiting and comment. Hope you like it as much as we do.
@Ellie - I must say it’s a killer curry dish in my family. I have to cook a bigger pot next time.
@Stacy - Agree with you that curry is good for cold weathers. It actually feels so good to have some curry with rice or noodles before stepping out into the cold outside.
@Mathea - This Malaysian curry pastes always gives beautiful colour and flavour to curries. Hope you can find it at your place.
@Sherleen - Thanks. It’s all in one pot…meat and vegetables and very easy to cook.

I am an American so please forgive if I am wrong, but the 15g baby corn seems contrary to picture or what I would expect. Please help clarify.
Mary on December 17th, 2009
@wareaglejoy - Oh, thanks very much for pointing that out to me. It’s a typing mistake. It should be 150g….just corrected.

Glad that you could find some nice curry paste over there as well. I’ve a few packets of maggie curry paste in my pantry for a while, hopefully I can make good use of them as well! Happy cooking!
Mary on December 19th, 2009
@Dhale - Me, too. I have been cooking soup almost everyday. It’s so warming. Seafood soups and curry just make me smile more
