Juicy Steak And Lemon Cake

Something different for the weekend. My daughter cooked a very nice Western meal….her first attempt. We had beef steak with a very nice brandy sauce to go with it. This was then followed by a beautiful dessert of lemon cake with ice-cream and raspberry coulis (watery jam). The dessert was particularly good. The colour and presentation were eye-catching, the lemon cake had an awesome tangy taste, the vanilla ice-cream was really good and the raspberry coulis tasted very fine and smooth. Peking Duck is one of my family’s favourites. We love the fun of making the wrap and then savouring the awesome goodness of it. Just delicious. However to eat in the Chinese restaurant until you are very satisfied can be quite a costly affair for a whole family.

To cook at home, well, I have given up the thought after I heard from a Chinese chef how tedious the whole process is. However, I have come up with an idea…..Peking Chicken! I am only good in cooking chicken and hopeless in cooking duck. The best chicken to use is the Chinese Roasted Chicken shared in my earlier post.
