Sushi filling

I love food and I love friends. Where there is food there is friendship built up and where there is friendship, there is always food. So I believe food and friends are inseparable like peanut butter (peanut & butter).

I always invite friends for food and always get invited by friends for food too. I always love to make foods to share with friends and always receive food from friends, too. It deepens friendship and makes life meaningful.

Just yesterday I was invited by a very nice Korean friend to her house for sushi lunch. Another lovely friend was also there. She had also invited me before but I forgot to take pictures of her lovely cooking. We had a great time making our own sushi. We were just learning to make, so the sushi didn’t look too great as you can see in the picture below. But the taste was really awesome….8 food items for the filling! We had so much fun in making, in eating and chit chatting…..totally satisfied and happy when we left.

A few days ago, I was also so touched by another friend who hunted me down in town to give me her signature Chinese roast duck. There was one day she drove about one hour to my place to give me a roast duck. I would say her roast duck is the best in town and I always feel so honoured to receive one. I have enjoyed many of her roast ducks. It takes 2 days to prepare and roast the duck! The taste is excellent and unbeatable. Every bite is absolutely flavourful. Here are the pictures.

‘The way to a person’s heart is through the stomach’ is very true. People love to eat unless they have health issues. Some people eat to live and some people live to eat. Some people don’t mind a simple meal but some people will travel far and wide for good food. But whatever it is, food plays a very important role in life and in building relationships and friendships.

In fact in many cultures, food is celebrated. Any business talks or formal meetings are preceded by food. Food helps to break the ice as people mingle and talk on other light stuff before getting on to serious matters. Food is just so important in all areas of our daily life. So, I will continue to cook and I will continue to make friends and build deeper friendship. This makes life more fulfilled and meaningful.

We can all keep learning to be a better friend. What do you do to deepen friendship? Please share, add and comment in the comment box below. Keep smiling and be happy.

Two of my favourite foods; roast duck and sushi. And with some wasabi and soy sauce…mmmmm…I think I’m going to make some. Do you know any good sushi recipes?
