Light, Fast And Easy Chinese Breakfast

Delicious Rice Cake Soup

Delicious Rice Cake Soup

There’s nothing better than eating something hot in the morning when the weather is cold. It’s good for the body. The soup warms up your body before you walk out of the door to face the cold.

I love this particular dish…..Rice Cake Soup, which is a light, fast Chinese breakfast. Again it’s very easy to prepare. I baked the poussin chicken (spring chicken) the night before. You need to soak the rice cake prior to cooking. So I soak half the packet of the rice cake so that it will be ready for cooking the next morning. That is enough for 2 persons. Rice Cake is easily available in any Oriental or Asian shops.

My favourite, chewy brownies

My favourite, chewy brownies

Baking cake is one of my favourites and I love to bake for friends. It’s one of the ways to keep friendship fresh. Not only is it clean with little washing but the aroma that fills the house is just awesome. The most exciting is to see my children running into the kitchen, excitedly waiting for a piece of freshly baked cake. Oh…it tastes SO GOOD when it comes out fresh from the oven.

Rough and Tough Times

I am not too sure about you but I thought this week was a bit rough for me. Met some friends yesterday and realized that I was not the only one……stories of tough times in the family, in the job, in a new place, in school and higher institution. Then there were much anxieties and concern about the swine flu pandemic that’s hitting London hard.

In fact I was told that people even have swine flu party to get the flu earlier rather than later during the seasonal change or in winter. The news from TV confirms the fear of a double in the number of swine flu cases over the past 7 days with 100,000 new cases.

Have you felt on top of the world to meet certain people while feeling right at the bottom of the pit to meet some others? Or have you felt frustrated, disappointed and confused to meet others? I am very sure you have some very good and some very bad experiences with people. I have. People around you can make you or break you.

As you go through life, you find that you just cannot avoid meeting people unless you want to live an isolated life like a hermit. However you can definitely improve your life and minimise or avoid the many pitfalls when it comes to dealing with people. To do that, you need to recognise that there are:

4 Types Of People In Your Life

  1. Those that like you and will not be persuaded to dislike you
This group of people are like diamonds to you. They will stick to you through thick and thin and believe in you even during times when you make mistakes. They act like pillars to your life. When life deals a big blow to you, they will be there for you while others walk away. Hold tight to them and really treasure them. There are not many around.

Best Fried Noodles In London

Authentic Malaysian Fried Noodles (Mee Goreng)

Authentic Malaysian Fried Noodles (Mee Goreng)

I love to talk about food. Food just makes me happy and alive. Of course it has to be very delicious, one that leaves a great after-taste and one that makes you think of it and miss it.

If there’s another food that I miss is the real Malaysian Mee Goreng which is fried noodles cooked by the Malays. The very first thing you need is turbo fire what I call it….real high heat. That’s impossible in any UK home kitchen. Then the type of noodles and the seasonings. It’s realy difficult to describe. I can only say it tastes so good with a big squeeze of lime over it. The best lime is the calamansi limes which I have not come across in UK.
