‘You look so tired‘! I heard a friend said to another friend.
‘Yes, I am. I have been so tired lately’, came the reply.
A few hours later, I met another friend who looked tired and complained about her tiredness. She said, ‘I am so tired and I feel so sleepy. But when I lie down to sleep I can’t sleep well.’
Met another friend later and she said, ‘I’m so tired that I can lie down anywhere to sleep. All I want is SLEEP!‘
All over, I watch people and notice the rising tide of tired or fatique looks, puffy eyes and dark rings around the eyes which I call panda eyes. This not only happen to adults, both men and women, but to children too. There’s endless complain about tiredness. But WHY?
Tiredness can be temporary or long term. I notice that most people are suffering from chronic tiredness or fatigues these days. I went through many years of tiredness. I just wanted to sleep all the time. Even breathing was quite a burden. My head just felt heavy and foggy. Everybody could tell from my face that I looked worn out every second of the day.
But today, I am well, full of energy, feel fresh and vibrant. I’ll share with you what I did - simple and easy natural ways - without drugs. It’s only easy and simple if you are willing to give a try and go for it. And you must go for it because nothing is better than waking up in the morning feeling fresh and full of energy. The good news is there’s no harm to it. The bad news is many people want a quick fix and give up too soon. Right, let’s get started.
- Eat the RIGHT Food
Food plays a very important part in our well being. But to many, we had been living in ignorance. We think that if other people can eat and enjoy it, I can, too. No, I’m sorry it’s not the case. Many of you feel reluctant to move or do anything after a meal and then need coffee to pick you up. That was what happened to me until I read about food combining by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond and Cook For Your Type by Dr Peter Adamo. It is very enlightening. I have been following it and finding out what work for me. It has been a great improvement. I plan out my diet properly each day.
- Eat the RIGHT Amount
Do not overeat. You will definitely be drained of energy if you eat too much because the energy that you need for your needed activities have been drained to digest that huge amount of food that you consumed. I keep my 3 meals light. I actually eat 5 times a day. Never skip meals because if you do so, you will tend to eat a lot the next meal because you ahd thrown your body into a starving mode. - Cook Your Own Food.
Nothing is better than fresh, home-cooked food. Don’t give excuses unless you enjoy living in tiredness. You can easily prepare a simple, nutritious meal without all the preservatives and additives. Save you a lot of money on top of that. It does take some discipline and learning. Everyone should learn to cook and enjoy cooking. It’s the only hobby that can make a difference to your health. - Cut Down your Stress.
Stress causes a whole load of illnesses and diseases. It is reported that more than 80% of sicknesses are emotional related. Docotrs may give you drugs to suppress it to help you feel good but it doesn’t solve the problem. On top of that it comes with many bad side effects. The best is to find the source of your stress and work hard to minimise and remove it so that you don’t have to depend on drugs.
- Get out into the sun.
The sun brings a lot of healing. Learn from the animals. Animals love to be out in the sun, but never under intense sunlight. Sunlight not only enables our body to produce vitamin D but also cause our body to produce happy hormones. When we are happy and relaxed our body heal faster.
Exercise is important to our body as we all know. It is important to sweat. However, you need to check with the doctor first before embarking on an exercise program especially if you are sick or tired. I rememeber one day I went to the gym when I had extreme fatigue. Just less than 2 minutes doing sit-up on the inclined bench, I fainted! Later I found from reading that you can die while exercising if you are ignorant of the level of your health. One of my friends, aged about 55, died while playing badminton. Choose an exercise that you enjoy and relevant to your condition.
- Drink lots of water.
Pure, clean water is highly important for our body functions. Drink 8 glasses of water, spread out through the day. If the weather is hot or you exercise and you sweat a lot, you need to drink more. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. By then, your body is already dehydated.
Choose to be happy and find all ways to laugh. Do not harbour anger, bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness towards anyone because it just eats you up on the inside. You will become a slave to it. It’s self tormenting while the other party continues on with life, oblivious to what you are going through, and maybe even wishing you dead. Smile and the world will smile along with you. Laugh and the world will laugh along with you. There’s great feeling after a good, belly laugh.
If you are tired, it’s your body’s call to take a break and rest. You are obviously over-driving yourself. Rest helps your body to detoxify and repair. Go to bed early.
