Are you going to have a GREAT WEEKEND? Is it going to be dull, boring, lazy or one that’s really exciting and fun? Are you allowing things that happen this week to affect your weekend or are you making plans to have a great weekend despite what happened this week?

Rough and Tough Times

I am not too sure about you but I thought this week was a bit rough for me. Met some friends yesterday and realized that I was not the only one……stories of tough times in the family, in the job, in a new place, in school and higher institution. Then there were much anxieties and concern about the swine flu pandemic that’s hitting London hard.

In fact I was told that people even have swine flu party to get the flu earlier rather than later during the seasonal change or in winter. The news from TV confirms the fear of a double in the number of swine flu cases over the past 7 days with 100,000 new cases.

Do Something

The question now is, ‘Are you going to be crippled by fear?’ Now, weekend is coming. Are you going to regret on Monday for feeling depressed and not enjoying a great weekend with your family and friends? Of course you shouldn’t let that happen. Do SOMETHING to have a great weekend. Be excited to go home today after work and look forward to a great weekend.  Even if you think you may drag yourself to work on Monday, just forget about it. Don’t worry too far. It may not happen after a great weekend. Sometimes we do need to sit down and watch how the birds and the animals live their lives.

You will know what I mean to go home excitedly by watching this video clip. It is hilarious but I hope it hits home a good message.

Well, I have here:

5 Ways to a Great Weekend

  1. Look forward to it with excitement
  2. Plan for it what to do and do it
  3. Forget about Monday and the days after
  4. Think and stay positive
  5. Do something beyond the norm

Happiness is a Choice

Make your life colourful and exciting this coming weekend. Have great fun. The best fun is to be with loved ones and doing something together, maybe like barbecue, outdoor games and other activities. Remember your friends. Do something to keep your frienship fresh by including them. When you have a great weekend, you will be re-charged and refreshed to face your Monday morning. Happiness is a choice, so choose to be happy.

I completely agree that happiness is a choice. Sometimes I want to give people who get upset about small tiny things a big slap to wake them up and tell them not to let their surroundings dictate how they feel. People should understand situations are 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
