Ever imagine how life is like if everything around us is dull, grey or black in colour? I for one find Aberdeeen quite depressing during the cold winter months. Aberdeen is named a ‘granite city’ because most of the houses are built from granite. It looks dull, grey and gloomy in winter. On top of that, most people somehow love to wear dark or black winter coat. I think the cold also makes people smile less. So you can imagine the atmosphere and the life during such time.
Why don’t people add colours to their fashion or their surroundings during the more gloomy days. You only get to see more colours during the summer months. I love colours. There’s much beauty in colours, especially colours from nature. Bright, cheerful colours excites and refreshes and makes you happy that you just want to smile. To me, bright, cheerful colours relax my mind and make my mind think better, more creative and more imaginative. They make me optimistic too.
When I go into a supermarket, I am always attracted to the vegetables, fruits and flowers sections. Nothing is more invigorating than being surrounded by all the beautiful, cheerful colours. Colours to me speaks of promises, of love and of life. There is such an awesome richness and beauty of colours.
One day I went into a shopping complex to do some shopping when my eyes caught sight of a stall full of colourful handbags. I must say I just stood at the side for quite a long time, just admiring all the colours. The bags came in all shapes and sizes and colours. It just brought such a beauty to the shopping complex.
Do you appreciate colours? Is life too busy and stressful that you don’t even notice the beauty of colours around you? What are your favourite colours? What’s your feeling or impression when people around you all wear dark colours compared to when they all wear bright colours? Is there a difference? Is there anything that you need to add some colours to them? Do share what you think.
Thought of the day……
