Simple, Easy Chinese Dumplings To Make At Home (Part 1)
If you like to eat Chinese food, you will like this - DUMPLINGS. A Chinese friend told me that she trains her children to eat vegetables by serving them dumplings because you can hide a lot of vegetables in it. I thought that is such a brilliant idea, never thought of it before. If I knew long time ago, I would have made it often for my children, especially my second daughter, because she hates vegetables. If she has to eat vegetables, she would have to have a glass of water next to her. She eats her vegetables like taking medicine!
Well, today my children asked for dumplings which I’m happy because it’s simple and easy to make - only the dough and the filling. I’ll show you here.
Recipe for Dough
2 C flour
1/2 C water (slightly more)
pinch of salt
Put flour into a bowl. Add water slowly while stirring with fork or chopsticks at the same time. Then knead well and leave to rest 30 mins. While waiting for the dough to rest, prepare the fillings (next post). After 30 minutes, cut into 24 pieces. Roll each one out into a thin round. Sprinkle with flour to prevent them from sticking to each other.
That’s it. You can ask little children to help. They would enjoy all the rolling. Roll it thin for better taste. Keep learning and keep smiling. See you in my next post for the dumpling filling.

@KOAYEC - Yes, C means cup. IC = 250ml water. It is very easy to use measuring cups. You can buy a set of these cups in supermarkets. They come in 1C, 1/2C, 1/3C and 1/4C. Have fun cooking ![]()
